And the first thing we're going to talk about today is the controversy around the Predator,

which in the context of where this story goes is an accidental pun.

So reports came out in the past week that 20th Century Fox ended up pulling a scene from the Predator.

The deleted scene reportedly featured a guy by the name of Stephen Wilder

Striegel. And it turns out Striegel, whose past included appearances on Days of Our Lives,

Melrose Place, also included a guilty plea that resulted in him being a registered sex offender.

And specifically, it was a guilty plea in 2010 around allegations that he was trying to lure a 14-year-old

girl into a sexual relationship via the

internet. Reportedly, he did not have a massive role in this movie. He had a short scene with

Olivia Munn, but it has now been cut. A Fox spokesperson has released the statement saying, our studio

was not aware of Mr. Striegel's background when he was hired, and explaining, we were not

aware of his background during the casting process due to legal limitations that impede studios from running background checks on actors. However, Shane Black, the director, apparently has always known. Shane Black saying,

was on a sensitive charge and not to be taken lightly. According to the Los Angeles Times,

According to reports, Olivia Munn was the first person to notify the studio.

But I'm also saying that she found it, quote, both surprising and unsettling, that Shane Black,

According to the LA Times, after Shane Black saw the previous story, he said it has sadly become clear to me that I was misled by a friend I really wanted to believe was telling me the truth when he described the circumstances of his conviction. I believe strongly in giving people second chances, but sometimes you discover that chance is not as warranted as you may have hoped. And after learning about the affidavit, transcripts and additional details surrounding Steve Striegel's sentence,
