0:08.4	And the first thing we're gonna talk about today are the multiple reasons we had TikTok in the news.
0:12.0	The first being that we saw a wave of backlash against a number of creators who were, uh, it's been described by some as a disturbing cosplay challenge. These kids putting on makeup, acting like they're a victim of the Holocaust, some going to heaven.
0:24.1	Though we've seen a lot of different content in this trend, some making jokes using the audio.
0:28.1	Hold up, hold up! Hold up!
0:30.1	Hold up!
0:31.1	That shit is gags!
0:34.1	And with this trend, you had a lot of people furious.
0:36.1	People saying things like stop trivializing the history of the Holocaust,
0:38.3	romanticizing it and using our pain as props for your entertainment and clout.
0:41.3	So I'm calling it disturbing, saying not only does it trivialize history,
0:44.3	but totally dishonors the memory of the Holocaust and lived experiences of real people.
0:48.3	Trends like this served to reduce knowledge of why and how Jews were persecuted.
0:52.3	It's saying it's not creative, it's plain offensive, and anti-Semitic.
0:55.0	And in fact, there's got to such a point
0:56.0	that the Auschwitz Memorial released a statement,
0:58.0	saying the quote,
0:59.0	victims' trend on TikTok can be hurtful and offensive.
1:01.0	Some videos are dangerously close
1:03.0	or are already beyond the border of tribulation of history,
1:05.0	but also adding, we should discuss this,
1:07.0	not shame and attack young people
