0:38.0	Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. is about to radically change the way that we test vaccines.
0:41.9	So they're seeing the Washington Post, setting a statement from an HHS spokesperson revealing
0:45.6	the plan change, and it's stating that all new vaccines will be required to undergo placebo
0:50.0	trials, meaning that a controlled group gets something like a saline shot instead of the actual vaccine,
0:54.6	which is something that vaccine skeptics argue would make sure that they're really safe and
0:58.6	effective. You know, RFK has actually hinted at this move for a long time, with more recently
1:02.2	him claiming on Dr. Phil show this week that only the COVID vaccine had a placebo.
1:05.8	None of the others were ever tested against placebo, so we have no idea what the risk profile
1:10.2	for these products are.
1:11.4	Except, as what I've found from my research is usually the case with RFK, he's just wrong here.
1:15.9	Vaccines, they do often undergo placebo testing. And where Kennedy is kind of right, but still not
1:20.5	really, is that some types of shots go through a different process, though arguably for a good reason.
1:24.9	So for example, when a disease is well understood, like with measles or polio,
1:28.3	we already know what the biological response that protects against it is going to look like.
1:31.5	So instead of comparing the real shot to a placebo,
1:33.8	scientists can just observe the biological response,
1:36.0	what they call a correlate of protection.
