0:05.3	We have a lot to talk about today,
0:07.0	but we have to start by talking about how Hurricane Milton
0:09.1	could be the strongest storm to hit Florida in a century.
0:11.8	And it's got people around Tampa especially
0:13.4	either bracing or scrambling in this less than two weeks after Helene devastated
0:17.8	parts of Florida as well as Georgia the Carolinas Tennessee and Virginia and in
0:21.6	fact some of Helene's victims are in the path of this new storm,
0:24.0	which at one point intensified from a category one
0:26.4	to a category five within 24 hours.
0:28.8	With this being the third fastest intensifying storm on record
0:31.8	in the Atlantic Ocean.
0:32.8	And the National Weather Service in Tampa,
0:34.4	writing on X that if the storm stays on its current track,
0:37.2	it will be the worst storm to impact the Tampa area
0:40.0	in over 100 years.
0:41.6	So also with that, the National Hurricane Center has predicted that the storm will weaken
0:44.5	to a category 3 by the time that it hits land.
0:46.6	Plus even small shifts north or south in its course is going to have a dramatic impact
0:50.0	on how much damage these communities actually suffer.
