0:24.6	apology from Bishop Mary Ann Edgar Buddy. And as far as who Bishop Buddy is, she is the spiritual
0:29.1	leader of the Episcopal Diocese of Washington. She's actually the first woman to serve in that
0:33.0	position. And yesterday, she spoke at the inaugural prayer service, the Washington National Cathedral. And she was there, along with more than a dozen religious leaders from various faiths.
0:40.4	And of course, the timing of this situation is key.
0:42.6	It came a day after Donald Trump became president again and issued a flurry of controversial executive orders, including some dealing with transgender rights and immigration.
0:49.8	So we saw with that, Bishop Buddy had a message for Trump.
0:52.6	At the end of her sermon, she took a breath and then looked directly at the new president

0:57.7	In the name of our God, I ask you to have mercy upon the people in our country.

1:09.5	There are gay, lesbian, and transgender children in democratic, Republican, and independent families,

1:36.0	shifts in hospitals, they may not be citizens or have the proper documentation.
1:48.0	But the vast majority of immigrants are not criminals. They pay taxes and are good neighbors.
