0:01.2	While we have seen some positive updates,
0:03.6	the LA fires are in no way over,
0:05.5	and the worst could be yet to come,
0:07.1	so there's a lot we need to talk about.
0:08.4	Starting with where we are right now,
0:10.0	because the fires have reportedly burned
0:11.4	over 40,000 acres for some 150,000 people to evacuate
0:15.3	and damage more than 12,000 structures.
0:17.5	But in fact, California Governor Gavin Newsom
0:19.1	saying he thinks that these fires will be one of the worst natural disasters in the history of the United States.
0:23.6	And to that point, early accounting actually suggests that these fires may be the nation's costliest disaster ever in terms of damage and economic losses.
0:30.6	I mean, as much as $150 billion, according to a preliminary estimate by Accue Weather.
0:35.6	Though, of course, right, the destruction that we're seeing here, it's not all dollars and cents.
0:39.0	We're talking about human lives as well.
0:40.7	And there, unfortunately, as expected, the death toll has risen.
0:43.5	And now, 24 and counting.
0:45.2	With the eaten fire alone, killing 16 people, making it one of the deadliest in California's history,
0:49.8	and the Palisades Fire being responsible for the other eight deaths.
0:52.6	And this is the true death toll may be higher with,
0:54.8	I mean, at the very least, another 16 people being reported missing in the areas of the two fires.
0:59.1	Now, with all that, right, the good news that we've seen is that the firefighters have been making progress,
