Diazcanel warned that any U.S. military action against the island would trigger what he

described as a, quote, bloodbath with incalculable consequences, end quote.

The warning comes just one day after new new intelligence, indicated that Cuba has quietly

acquired more than 300 military drones, with U.S. officials reportedly concerned that those

drones could eventually be used to target Guantanamo Bay or Key West or American naval vessels

operating in the region. According to Axios, classified intelligence assessments

described Cuba's drone arsenal as a, quote, growing threat, particularly as relations between the Trump

administration and the communist government continue to deteriorate. In a statement posted Monday on

social media, Diaz Canel accused the U.S. of threatening military aggression against Cuba,

calling it an international crime. He insisted Cuba has no plans to attack the U.S. while also

warning that the island has what he described as the, quote, absolute right to defend itself.
