Summary

In this episode of The President's Daily Brief:   We’ll start things off with an arrest in a politically charged Molotov cocktail attack on a Tesla dealership in Las Vegas. Federal officials say it was no random act of vandalism—and now, the suspect faces both state and federal charges.   Later in the show: Iran responds to President Trump’s call for negotiations over its advancing nuclear program. The reply stops short of outright rejection—but Tehran isn’t ready for face-to-face talks either.   To listen to the show ad-free, become a premium member of The President’s Daily Brief by visiting PDBPremium.com. Thank you. It's Friday the 28th of March. Welcome to the PDB afternoon bulletin. I'm Mike Baker,

0:47.5

your eyes and ears on the world stage. Let's get briefed. We'll start things off with an arrest in a

0:53.3

Molotov cocktail attack on a Tesla

0:55.4

dealership. Now, federal authorities say it was no random act of vandalism. They've won today's

1:01.3

PDB statement of the obvious award. Later in the show, Iran has responded to President Trump's

1:06.9

outreach, but while they didn't slam the door on negotiations, they're not ready to sit

1:12.3

down at the table either. But first, today's afternoon spotlight. A politically charged

1:17.6

firebombing attack on a Tesla dealership in Las Vegas has led to a federal investigation and now

1:23.7

an arrest. Authorities say that 36-year-old Paul Hion Kim has been taken into custody,

1:30.1

accused of carrying out a Molotov cocktail attack that torched multiple Teslas at a local collision

1:36.1

center last week. According to Las Vegas police, Kim arrived at the Tesla site,

1:41.2

late at night on March 18th in a black Hyundai Elantra, dressed in all black

1:46.6

and wearing gloves. There's a clue in there somewhere. He allegedly approached the building,

1:52.7

damaged security cameras with a rifle, another clue, I think, and then proceeded to set at least

1:58.7

five vehicles on fire. Yeah, the evidence does appear to be

2:02.9

mounting. The word resist was spray-painted across the front doors of the facility. This guy is

2:09.3

basically a walking evidence trail. Investigators also discovered an unlit Molotov cocktail

2:14.4

inside one of the vehicles. That's a detail, that suggests the situation could

2:18.8

have been even worse. Police say Kim tried to cover his tracks, but, well, clearly, it didn't work.
