Believe it or not, our hosts can be positive every once in a while. This week, they sit down to chat about the encouraging outcomes of this year’s PCA General Assembly. What happened at the GA that is giving Todd such encouragement about the future of the denomination? (It’s been well-documented that Carl couldn’t care less!) Todd explains the dynamics inside a denomination comprised of “tribes” (as some have called them) that have different interests and goals for the future. For example, some are committed to reforming Presbyterianism and its distinctives, while others see a more progressive kind of evangelicalism for the PCA. Todd reviews the “overtures” voted on at the Assembly and what they mean in the big picture. Overall, it’s an encouraging affirmation of biblical standards and reformed doctrine. And I'm here, as always, with my co-host, the Reverend Todd Pruitt, pastor of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Covenant Presbyterian Church is, of course, a congregation within the PCA, the Presbyterian Church in America. And against all
1:20.7	odds, and much to my personal disappointment, the PCA has had a GA this year that actually did some good things.
1:31.3	One of the things that I love about being in the OPC is being able to pray that biblical
1:36.8	prayer, a version of the one our Lord refers to. I thank you, Lord, that I am not like other
1:43.2	Presbyterians, like this Presbyterian Church
1:46.9	in America denomination over here. Unfortunately, despite all of my prayers to the contrary,
1:54.8	it would appear that the PCA may be pulling back from the brink of total self-destruction and dissolution into the corrupt
2:03.5	values of our wider culture. Todd, what went wrong?
2:08.6	You're going to get so many fans over this. I'll tell you, my more progressive brothers
2:15.4	in the PCA are just going to love you after that introduction.

2:21.1	Well, I can tell you what happened was a surprise to just about everyone, I think.
2:28.9	It is no secret to most of us, certainly to those within the PCA. It's no secret that there are
2:36.3	really broadly speaking to camps in the PCA as one as one of the leaders of the national
2:42.7	partnership, which is an organization and a lobbying organization of progressives within the
2:50.2	PCA. He refers to it as tribes. We're in different
2:54.2	tribes in the PCA. And it's true. You have those. And I wouldn't I wouldn't characterize
