0:28.0 | It's going to be volume 2 of the Q&A. |
0:32.0 | Obviously you just got a podcast yesterday and here we go. Following up, we're going to work through these Q&A's one by one. |
0:44.0 | And I don't know, I called it Knock-On-On just because you weren't expecting podcasts to just come volume in but that's what I have to do. |
0:54.0 | We've taken a break. Now we've got to make up ground and get back, we've got to get back to where we were. |
1:02.0 | Just like if you don't work out for a while, you still got to get back to that baseline. So we've got a cover ground, cover ground fast. |
1:10.0 | So I'm going to pick up with question here from looks like gains that, I believe that's how I say it. |
1:21.0 | But the question here is, best thing to do to keep your shoulders healthy for archery, any exercises, stretches that you recommend for keeping them in working order. |
1:35.0 | That is an awesome question. And not one that I'm totally qualified to answer from a, I don't know, from a PT point of view or a medical point of view. |
1:48.0 | It would be way better having someone that's a professional like my buddy Sam Pogue or Peter Tia, someone like that would be awesome. |
1:58.0 | But what I will tell you is what I do for mine. And mine are definitely at the tail end of having some issues I guess. |
2:12.0 | My shoulder that I had repaired is actually in the process right now of breaking down again. |
2:22.0 | It's possible that I did something during an activity that involved, I'm trying to think back of what could have possibly done it, but it definitely could have been something relating to holding on to an inner tube on a boat. |
2:37.0 | But it does look like I've torn my shoulder again that I had fixed before. And then also my right shoulders also torn. So I have torn leverms on both sides again. |
2:51.0 | So what I'll tell you is, I don't know, it seems like for archery, there's obviously wear and tear with shoulders in proper technique is one of the things that really promotes aggravation more than anything. |
3:09.0 | And honestly, the style of archery and the type of technique and form that I teach helps me with that because what kills me worse than anything in relation to when I really struggle with shoulder pain and then kind of promoting shoulder injury, I guess, or I don't know, antagonizing my injury is when I try to shoot improper draw length. |
3:36.0 | So every time I have to do bow builds, I literally try to cram all those bow builds into a season to where I'm building all these different draw links during a certain time of year. |
3:51.0 | So that way I'm isolating my painful time. |
3:55.0 | And if I shoot a draw link that's too short, it's really murderous on a torn labor. Mainly because the place that mine is torn when I have to compress my shoulder back to shoot those shorter drawings or if I have to compress my shoulder back and then bend my front arm a little bit. |
