Knock-On Podcast number 225 and we are, well in some states, Turkey season started here in Iowa.

We're right on the brink. I think you season might kick off this weekend possibly,

but I figured there was no person better to get on to talk turkeys than my buddy Mike Slinkard. What's up Mike?

Hey John, how are you?

Good. I figure you're the, for as many hardcore turkey hunters as there are,

I actually just continue to get baffled by your technique.

So I thought it'd be cool just to throw a complete curveball into this Turkey podcast if I get you on here

because we can talk complete unorthodox ways of hunting turkeys according to most turkey hunters.

And then we can probably key into the orthodox way of hunting turkeys.

But have you gone out yet this year?

Not yet. I'm going to leave the 12th. We're going to start out down in Texas.

I'm going to put everybody down there that I hunt with every year and we'll go down there and he's got some really good property down there.

So I start there and then our season here in Oregon starts the 15th.

So we'll be doing some stuff here and I may possibly still put together a hunt out in Ohio with my buddy Bill Eppert.

Anyway, it's almost time. Almost time that we were out scouting this weekend and saw some nice birds and starting to kind of break up here a little bit so things are looking good.

Okay. Well, before I tell you what I've gone through to prep for Turkey season, I mean, what do you, for your Turkey season, what do you like dust off your lawn chair?
