Would you turn, please, in the scriptures to two openings, Hebrews chapter 2.

Then I believe we'll go to Proverbs chapter 3.

We began a few weeks ago on a subject we're calling pay attention.

Anybody remember that?

We've had several things in between our segments of this.

But what we've been talking about is mentioned in these verses.

In Hebrews 2 and verse 1, I'm going to read this in the

Amplified, Hebrews 2 and 1, it says, since all this is true, we ought to pay much closer

attention than ever to the truths that we have heard, lest in any way we drift past them

and slip away.

For if the message given through angels was authentic and proved sure, and every violation

and disobedience received an appropriate penalty, how

should we escape if we neglect and refuse to pay attention to such a great salvation?

So, for it was declared at first by the Lord himself, it was confirmed to us and proved to be

real and genuine by those who

personally heard him speak.

He says we ought to pay close attention to the truths that we have heard, lest in any way

we drift past them.

The King James says, let them slip.

Getting the things of God is not automatic.

We live in a very distracting place.

And that's all we've ever known.
