If you would turn with me in the scriptures this evening to the book of Proverbs chapter 4, Proverbs 4,

verse 1 says, hear you children, the instruction of a father and attend to no understanding.

The young's literal says, give attention to no understanding.

Skip down to verse 10.

Verse 10 says, hear, oh, my son, and receive my sayings and the years of your life shall be many

anybody believe the bible here and receive and the years of your life

will be many. Well, that'd be

a good reason you ought to pay attention

to what he's saying.

Is this

automatic that

the years of your life will be many?

No. It's not.

That's why he's talking about it.

If you pay attention, if you'll hear this, if you'll get it, if you'll receive it, if you'll do it,

it's going to affect the length of your life and the quality of your life.

So what if you don't?

What if you don't esteem it, you don't respect it, you don't have time for it, you don't listen

to it, and you don't do it, well, this is not going to happen for it or me.

Keep reading in verse 18.

He said, the path of the just is as the shining light that shines more and more unto the perfect day.
