You know, your nickname is Big Velvet, and I don't think I actually know the source of the nickname.

Well, we were, I was living at the Belmont

Hotel in Dallas Texas and there was this a taco shop across the street and I went

there and this dude behind the counter giving me my tacos he said you're you're Paul

cotton I was like yeah he's like your voices big and velvety you're big you know it's like big velvet yeah and? I was like, yeah. He's like, your voice is big and velvety. You're big, you know, it's like big velvet. Yeah. And so I was walking back to my hotel room and I was, had a bag of tacos and a bunch of verde sauce. And I started thinking, I was like, man, yeah, big velvet, I am. I guess I do. That is what it is.

And so, you know, it just ended up happening, you know.

I was like, well, I'm going to lean into it.

I'll tell the people what Big Velvet is.

And I think everybody's been on board with that ever since.

Yeah, yeah.

That guy has no idea how big of an impact he had on the big Velvet legacy.

No doubt.

Just working at a taco shop.

That's hilarious.

Man, it was something else, man.

I thought about it.

I was like, that was just like a gift, you know?

I mean, just like to think about like it's kind of like Ziggy Star Dust for David Bowie, you know.

It's being able to kind of like compartmentalize and differentiate your real world life to your stage wearing your, you know, your cape and getting up there and being able to be Superman and, you know, so big Velvet kind of turns a switch.
