Hello and welcome to episode 34 of The Vanished. Tonight I will be discussing the disappearances

of two children, 22 years apart, one still lost and one found. These children happen to

be connected by one woman, Susan Baker. She was a stepmother to one and babysitter to another.

Susan Baker is currently serving a 25-year sentence for the kidnapping of seven-month-old

Shannon Deerjerk. Shannon was found locked in a wooden box under a bed in Susan's home.

We are the proud poppers of a little girl. This is Shannon Lee Dietrich. We found her

safe. We do not usually get the happy inns that we have happened to hear today.

Shannon was lucky enough to be found alive, but Paul is still missing. I spoke with Paul's

sister Nina and her story is truly heartbreaking and for this reason I broke this into two

episodes. I had a few people listen to the interview and everyone agreed that it was

a lot to take in at once. Paul was just three years old when he disappeared. Both Paul and

Nina had not had easy lives and they both suffered horrific abuse at the hands of Susan

Baker. Paul went missing from his home in South Carolina on March 5, 1987. He had been
