and there ain't nothing you can do about it. All right, Phil, this is, I want to lead off with this conversation a little bit about the team personality and identity and its structure and leadership.

We've talked about how it's such a new group, like 11 of the 22 starters or either in their first year with

the team or in their first year as starters or second year. And with so many important players

added to the mix, Albert Breer had this commentary over the weekend. You saw some of the younger players and the newer players take ownership.

There was a real question, I think, over the last few weeks internally in that

organization about leadership and about whether or not older guys like Devin McCordy

and Dante Hightower and Kyle Van Nuoy were getting through to the locker room.

And I know that there were some newcomers who came into this place and sort of said to

themselves, this isn't what I expected.

This isn't what I thought the Patriots were going to be.

And so seeing some young guys and seeing some new guys and seeing some guys who maybe weren't

around for the championships take charge guys like Matt Jones and Johnny Smith and
