Well, Friday morning, a little on the early side.

I wish it was even less early, given that we had to do the dispatch live thing last night in response to the convention.

We didn't wrap that up until about 1230, 1245, something like that.

You know, I need my beady rest. And the thing is my dogs get me up by six a.m.

regardless of when I go to sleep which is why I usually go to sleep pretty early. I don't know where I'm going to go with this

I mean I'm going to talk I'm gonna get a bunch of convention punditry out of here because like convention

punditry is it's like fresh fish and new newspapers the shelf life goes

really quickly but imagine I said that in a pithier and more clever way.

But you get my point is like by this time next week the convention will seem a really long time ago.

I don't want to just talk about that stuff,

but that is the nature of the moment.

Shockingly, I mean, I mean that sincerely, there's not false modesty

or humble brag or any of that kind of stuff. The numbers for the solo

remnant are doing really, really well and we're not entirely sure why. My

suspicion is as less to do with anything I'm providing and more to do with the fact that

first of all there's just general interest in politics right now, always is at this point in an election,

never mind the peculiar reality of this election, but also the fact that because

this thing basically comes out Saturday morning, there are just very few other podcasts out there, and so I think

we kind of benefit by default that we have habit formation for Saturday mornings
