You've been sitting way too long. Welcome to the Ralph Nader Radio Hour. My name is Steve Scrovan along with David Feldman and the

Man of the Hour Ralph Nader. We have another fascinating and

provocative show for you today featuring Pulitzer Prize winning journalist

Patrick Sloyan and Dr Michael Alexander who specializes in hernia surgery at the famed

shoaldiced hospital in Toronto. But before we get to that, I want to say a lot of

what we try to do with this show is to encourage activism. And if you notice our theme song is called

Stand Up, Rise Up, and that's why we like to give up phone numbers and websites

so if a particular topic or civic action appeals to you, you have a place to channel that

enthusiasm.

For instance, two weeks ago, we featured Stephen Silverstein of the National Popular

Vote Movement.

It's an organization that is pushing to change

the way the electoral college works so that the candidate for president wins the popular

vote will never come in second, which has happened in our history a number of times.

And it's also a way to force candidates during the campaign to pay attention to all 50 states

and not just a handful of swing states, so that everyone's vote counts.

Well, Mr. Silberstein was very pleased to report after the show
