Hey, this is Paris. I hope you enjoyed the Data Vampire series that we did back in October. It's had a

0:05.4

fantastic response. And for that series, I spoke to a bunch of experts. And now we're releasing the

0:10.6

full-length versions of those interviews for our supporters over on patreon.com. And I wanted to give you a

0:17.0

preview of what those interviews sound like. So you can consider whether to go to

0:21.4

Patreon.com slash Tech Won't Save Us, become a supporter yourself, so you can learn even more

0:26.4

about the important topics that we dug into in that special series. So enjoy this clip from

0:31.8

sovereignty that you think is worth learning about. Can you talk to us a bit about that? And what you

1:04.9

see is positive in how Latin America is approaching this and how it would further empower, you know,

1:13.3

the people who use these technologies rather than just the people who make them.

1:17.4

Well, just to make like a connection between the two topics, something interesting that we did

1:21.7

in Santiago when I visited the community of Cerrios is that we co-organize a workshop with

1:27.3

the local community, environmental activists, is that we co-organize a workshop with the local community,

1:28.8

environmental activists, and digital rights activists. So I think that usually, you know,

1:33.9

the environmental impact of digital technologies have not been central in the concerns of digital

1:39.7

rights groups. I personally think that that's particularly concerning when it comes to Latin America,
