Thursday I went to an art opening from who I consider the greatest painter of all time.

All the way back to G&R's appetite for destruction when I first found out about lowbrow art

and juxtapose magazine and people like Robert Williams, Todd Shore, the Clayton brothers.

I fell in love with this type of art, this type of painting, oil painting.

Most of the time it was oil.

And they were really abstract, radical, weird, cool topics like the cover of

Appetite for Destruction before it was banned.

That was done by the legendary Robert Williams, who is considered the grand pooh-bah of this whole run and movement and style and flavor.

Now, somewhere along the way, a guy named Mark Ryden came out.

You might know him. He started out. He was doing album covers.

And then he started doing paintings. And I went to one of his first shows many, many, many years

ago, immediately fell in love with this guy's paintings.

He did a cover of Rolling Stone.
