0:00.0	An entitled patient in her boyfriend demand that I abandoned a dying ICU patient just so I can get their Uber East order,
0:07.4	complaining that they don't want to have to go downstairs and get it themselves.
0:11.2	And I'm truly blown away by their entitlement.
0:13.6	Here's what happened.
0:14.6	So I work in a high-level hospital as an ICU nurse
0:18.0	and my managers are fantastic with staffing,
0:20.6	meaning that if you have a crashing, heavy workload patient, they'll make the other
0:24.5	patient you have an easier one, so you can focus on the sick one.
0:28.3	For a bit of background, ICU nurses have two patients, and we specialize in critical thinking, whereas the telefloor is the normal part of the hospital where people think about and hold less sick people who don't need as much attention, so these nurses have six patients.
0:42.4	So the beginning of my shift after I report in,
0:45.0	I show my face and I say hi to my less sick patient
0:48.0	who is doing fantastic
0:50.0	and just currently waiting for transport to move her.
0:52.0	I say to her, I'll be back at
0:53.4	around 9 o'clock p.m. in two hours unless she needs me for something else so this
0:57.8	gives me time to stabilize the sick patient next door. Unfortunately the sick
1:01.9	patient in room one starts coding and the team is
1:04.8	actively doing CPR. There is a crash cart in the hallway, three doctors are here,
1:09.7	a whole team to try and save this young guy. My team is working on medication, intubating, keeping compressions going, etc.
1:17.0	All while I'm talking with the doctors about what could have possibly caused it.
1:20.0	And at this point, I'm halfway outside the room for the healthier patient in room
1:24.0	too. She sees me through the window, presses the call light and I ignore it because I
