About Mr. Jim:

Hi! I'm Jim Jacob, a South Carolina based creator. I started as a podcaster by accident. Our first real episodes on the internet were me trying to find a solution to help tell my sons stories as I was traveling for work. I recorded some stories and hoped that by uploading them to a podcast app, my wife and kids could have easy access to listen. What started as a fix for our family’s bedtime routine interruption has grown into a worldwide audience with hundreds of thousands of listeners. My wife Jocelyn and I have 3 kids and love inspiring others towards greater imagination and curiosity.

Hunter glanced down and said, Reed, we've been watering this plant for like only four hours so far

0:56.1

why are you being so dramatic? Because this is the hardest challenge I've ever

1:01.5

had in my entire life I'm not very good at being patient.

1:06.3

Reed, I guess was not very good at being patient. Do you think you know how to be patient?

1:13.0

I bet you do.

1:15.0

You see being patient means that you value something that's on the other side of being patient.

1:21.0

So imagine if I said, hey, I'm going to ask you to sit in this chair for five

1:27.6

minutes. Do you think that five minutes is going to seem like a long time? Or how about ten minutes? How about if you had to sit in a chair for 10 minutes?

1:37.6

That would seem pretty hard, right? I'd be hard to be patient. Well, what if, on the other side of that 10 minutes, you got a

1:46.2

cookie? Oh, I bet you'd be up for that challenge. Well, see, you can choose to be patient, and sometimes it's something that you have to choose to do, and not, there's not always a cookie at the other side.

2:00.0

Well, as spies, Hunter and Reed, they had been to a lot of trainings about how to choose to be patient, but I guess it's harder to act it out in real life.

2:10.0

And Reed was really struggling.

2:12.0

I don't think I can do this.

2:14.0

Beep beep.

2:16.0

All right, it's time to water, said Hunter.

2:19.0

You see they had an alarm going off every 10 minutes.

2:22.0

They had to water the seed so that it would grow and

2:26.1

then that bush would produce the bubble berries that we need to stop pervasor
