Time waits for no one, as the saying goes, but if you're in the market for a luxury

timepiece, you may be waiting years to get the watch you want, if you can get it at all. Demand for

high-end watches surged during the pandemic, CNBC reports, but even hungry markets weren't enough

to get the big four luxury watchmakers, Rolex, Paddock Philippe,

Otomar Paget, and Richard Miel to increase production numbers on their most exclusive watches.

In fact, Paddock Philippe even went so far as to discontinue one of its most coveted watches,

the Nautilus 5711. The wait lists for the 5711 have been as long as eight years at some retailers.

You can't just sign up either.
