of Paterson, a Hall of Fame wrestler, a Hall of Fame creative executive in the wrestling

business, and someone who so many people have fond memories of it.

We're going to talk a lot about that here on this special episode of the Super Podcast. And to join me here at the top of the show and at various

points throughout the show, I'm very happy to have back on the show the man who, along with

Pat, wrote accepted how the first gay superstar changed WWE. He's our friend Bertrandi Bear.

Bertrand, thanks for being here today.

Thank you for the invitation, Brian.

I mean, it's been bittersweet, but, you know, I hope Pat at least to make sure that

his story is tell one more time.

Well, we really appreciate you being here. And, and of course our condolences to you because

we know how close you were with Pat and the relationship you formed with Pat while working

on Accepted, and of course your relationship went well beyond the publication of the book.

Before we talk about Pat and his career, talk a little bit about the Paterson

you got to know, to anyone who just watched him on TV or anyone who just heard stories

about him. What was Pat Patterson really like?

Pat was always trying to entertain himself and entertain people around him. He wanted to laugh,

you know, and he wanted to have good food and good drinks and enjoy life. Be happy. And I mean, that's the message. I mean, he was never consumed by wrestling. It was always about having fun. And, you know, he was like, oh, wrestling. You want to talk

about wrestling all the time. You know, I'm talking to Pat Patterson. So the first few times, I'm like,

you know, we're talking about his life, but we're talking about Rod the night before, too.

And if, ah, right, stop. Okay, that's enough. Let's talk about something else.
