Hello everyone and welcome to another episode of Every Square Inch.

I am Robert Cunningham, and this is the second part of a little two-part series on some concluding

reflections from my 16 years of pastoral ministry. I am moving into a different

role focused on Christian public work here in Kentucky, and I will be detailing all of that in

upcoming podcasts, but I did want to pause and offer some reflections from my time as pastor.

This is not the normal content you're used to on this podcast.

I completely understand that, but I did want to just publicly journal, I guess you could say,

some reflections that I hope will be helpful to pastors and churches.

In the first part, I did speak to the pastors and church leaders. Now in this episode,

I want to direct my attention to the congregational side of things. Now, I said in the last podcast

that I didn't feel comfortable sharing quote-unquote successes I had in ministry. So instead,

I shared some mistakes that I made, hoping that others would

learn from them. Well, in this episode, I have no problem bragging about my former congregation.

Tate's Creek Presbyan Church isn't a perfect church, but it was the perfect church for me as a pastor.

And I am eternally grateful for the way

they loved and supported me. And I say that up front because I didn't want anyone to hear what I'm

about to say as a passive aggressive dig at TCPC. What I'm going to share, they embodied in so many

ways. And I hope that will come out as I discuss this. Now, what I want to do is what I did with the last podcast and share some unique reflections I've had as I've processed things. There are some obvious ones that I think congregations should be doing. You should absolutely be praying for your pastor.

You should be volunteering.

You should be tithing.

You should prioritize weekly attendance in worship.

You should give your pastor a sabbatical.
