And so thank you, my dear

0:10.9

for you and we believe this message is going to be just what you need. God bless you and we'll check back in with you after this message.

0:17.9

We thank God, isn't it awesome to know that you are a child of God? Isn't it amazing to know that you're not forgotten, that you're not an orphan, that your life is not solely dependent upon you and what you do, but

0:36.9

but you're a child of the most high God. I love that song. Well, it's amazing to be here with you and look who's with me. Hey, how you doing? I'm doing so good. I'm so excited about what we're going to be talking about today. Yeah, yeah, and we've been talking about we've been having some rich conversations and prayer times and we want to bring you into it and I'll just kind of tell you what we're going to be doing over the next few times that we come together Thursday and

1:06.9

Sunday and then the theme will still be in play for the following Thursday and Sunday. But I personally we are we're concerned and one of the things that that we're concerned about and we've been concerned for a long time is how you navigate the times that we're in. Now when we say you, we also recognize and realize that you all are not all of you are not American.

1:35.9

And many of our community are from Africa, from Europe, from South America, from so many places, from Germany. I mean, we literally have people from over a hundred countries that are part of our community. But here in particular in America, we're going through quite possibly one of the most contentious divisive times in our country.

2:02.9

And a lot of it has a political underpinning to it. And as you know, we have an election coming up in just a few days now and there and there are a lot of things, so many things in the hearts of the minds of the people that are relying upon the outcome of this election. And the truth of the matter is somebody's going to be disappointed.

2:30.9

And so my heart and our heart was to get us to a place where we are still victorious no matter what. I don't believe that God has ordained our peace or our sense of victory on the outcome of a political process.

2:59.9

What are you, you know, no, I totally agree. And I think that we have to be intentional about making sure that we aren't just being tossed to and fro in the middle of an election season. I'm thinking about Jesus on the boat when the storm was raging. And he said peace be still. And I think it's a reminder for me that peace can be on the move that it can be, you know, up to the next head headline or what's happening on social media.

3:24.9

And so I think that this is just an opportunity to really determine where we want to be positioned in this pivot. There are so many things taking place in the world and we have to be positioned properly.

3:34.9

It's not often that in a time of transition that we have an opportunity to determine how we want to be positioned before a pivot.

3:43.9

If we think about 2020, there were so many things that happened that we were just kind of waiting on the headlines to see, okay, where how do I function now? How do I move now? But this is an opportunity for you to say this is who I am. This is who I am. And God, regardless of what happens next week, this is where I want to be positioned not just for the election season, but for all of the things that are taking place in my life. Who am I going to be no matter what?

4:08.9

Yeah, and that's the theme, literally the theme of our time together for these next few sessions is no matter what. And I think at the end of the day, we have to be in control of the narrative that drives our life.

4:25.9

I've said it before in the message I preached several years ago that every life should be governed by a powerful, positive, prophetic thought. I'm going to say that again.

4:41.9

All of our lives should be governed by a powerful, positive, prophetic thought. In other words, the entry point of our life cannot be based on an evil narrative, a depressing narrative, a discouraging narrative.

4:59.9

But we have to enter into life, regardless of what's going on with a thought, with prophecy, you know, one of my favorite passes in the scripture, I quote it all the time, is Jeremiah 29-11, where God says, for I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you to give you a future and a hope.

5:23.9

In another translation, it says, for I know the thoughts, I think towards you, their thoughts of Shalom, that's peace, that's goodness, that's prosperity, and not evil to give you a future and an expected end.

5:38.9

And so that means, and what's interesting about that verse is oftentimes we don't tell people what the context was when he said that the children of Israel were getting ready to go into captivity for 70 years.

5:55.9

So here is God saying in the midst of a difficult time that, for I know the thoughts that I have for you, I know the thoughts, and I love them, I know the thoughts that I have for you, thoughts, thoughts, thoughts, every life ought to be governed by a powerful thought.

6:10.9

God says, I know the thoughts that I'm thinking, God said, I'm not ignorant to your situation, I'm thinking about what's going on and I have a plan, I am an intelligent God, I'm a God who declares the end from the beginning.

6:24.9

And so if God is, is, if our lives are governed by a God thought, then we also have to govern our lives by thought and to control the narrative of our lives, no matter what.
