Well, howdy, Pastor Mark Driscoll here?

Just finished watching the Democratic National Convention

and I wanted to provide a bit of a pastoral perspective

in what is the wildest political season of my entire lifetime and it seems like

seems like anything could happen between now and November.

A lot of what I share is going to be pastoral, theological, biblical,

I'm a Bible teacher.

If I had to summarize just sort of where we find ourselves following both conventions

and the Republican and the Democratic Convention, both really I think appeal to the core audience.

We'll see if they were able to grow the base.

But both were done very, very well,

a highly well produced.

Of course, it's all political theater and and it's all just made

for television and news. Both also were very very patriotic at the Democratic

National Convention. You saw a lot more red, white and

blue and flags than you have in past years and there is a competing vision for

the United States of America and what our future looks like.

If I had to summarize it, there was a political commentary some years ago that basically said that

America is kind of like a family. ago that

the American is kind of like a family and that the Democrat Party is like the mom party and the

Republican Party is like the dad party. And so the Republican issues are more dad issues. Secure the border, be tough on crime, lower taxes, you know, support first responders and police officers, rule of law, things of that sort and kind.

Make sure you get the bad guys and the terrorists to keep people safe. More the
