Good morning, and thanks for joining me for Rise in Crime. Your morning caffeine hit,

All About Crime. I'm Mama Jules, and we have four stories today. First off, a much-requested update to the Micah Miller case out of South slash North Carolina, and then three more stories of theft,

all with different outcomes ranging from family heartache to sparing of life to death by scissors.

Let's get into it.

And like I said, as requested, I'm going to update everyone on the charges leveled against John

Paul Miller. That's the husband of Micah Miller. Now remember, John Paul is the former pastor of

Solid Rock Church in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He was also the estranged husband of Micah Miller,

who, it was decided, died by suicide in April of 2024.

Now, on that day, Micah was seen leaving her home in Myrtle Beach right before noon.

Micah drove to a pond shop nearby where she purchased a gun, and then almost three hours

later, Micah called 911.

She asked the dispatcher if her location could be tracked via that phone call.

The dispatcher responded by asking Micah to tell her what had happened.

Micah said the following, I'm about to kill myself, and I just want my family to know where to find me.

Then she hung up the call. When the dispatcher tried to call Micah back unsuccessfully, local law enforcement was summoned to try and

find Micah. When they located her black Honda Accord at Lumber River State Park, investigators

located a sig-sour gun case in the passenger seat of the car and a box of ammunition in the center console.

They also found the receipt for the handgun from the pawn shop.

Now, while law enforcement was fanning out to search for Micah, a man approached police and said he had found a bag near the edge of the water.
