Mary welcomes back Pastor Claude Stauffer of Calvary Chapel Amityville, NY to talk about his latest book, “Your Greatest Patriotic Duty”. Our discussion covers a variety of topics from voting, to political polarization, to evangelism to revival. Christians often disengage from the election process, stating that the lesser of two evils in candidates is no choice at all. When it comes to matters of conscience, Christians vary widely and voting is probably at the top of their list. But even when it comes to thankfulness for our relatively free and peaceful lives, Christians ought to engage in the process. The issues are important, from pro-life to being able to share the gospel freely. We also talk about revival. What is it? Does the Bible teach or prophesy about it? How might it look today, in a church that is more engaged in deception, pride and false teaching than it is engaged in evangelism. A thoughtful hour. Pastor Claude presently serves as the senior pastor of Calvary Chapel of Hope, a church he has served from its beginning in 1993. He served bi-vocationally as a pastor and social worker for 16 years. He serves as a chaplain on the New York State Chaplaincy Task Force. His latest work is “Your Greatest Patriotic Duty”, his 30th book.
