Music Let's get you caught up. Tacoma firefighters are speaking out today about proposed cuts to the Tacoma Fire Department.

On the chopping block, funding for replacement staff.

When firefighters can't work, firefighters say that's helped reduce overtime costs.

The proposed cuts are part of a plan to help solve the city's estimated $24 million budget deficit.

Last month, Tacoma voters said no to a property tax measure, which city officials say would have saved the program.

Today's event is at noon at the Firefighters

Union Hall in Tacoma. And starting this week, Washington State will be responsible for investigating

police killings in 12 counties, mostly on the Olympic Peninsula and in southwest Washington.
