It appears that the US Government is being slow to finalize regulation for blockchain and cryptocurrency, but that doesn’t mean progress isn’t being made. It’s said that all politics is local, and different states are moving forward with blockchain in different ways.  

In the state of Michigan, a bill has been passed that would write emerging Bitcoin and blockchain technologies into existing state laws that prohibit financial crimes and racketeering.
