Hey, hello, it is the Go Birds Podcast presented by Parks, Casino and Sports, but coming up a little bit later, we're going to talk to Eli Hirschkevitts about this weekend's matchup for the NCAA tournament, the Sweet 16.

0:39.0

We're going to go through every single game there, but obviously Elliott, and we will talk about this exclusively tomorrow on our radio show Saturday and WIP, so chime in.

0:49.0

Call us at 215-5929494, but we will be remiss. We're recording a podcast today. It's supposed to be a betting pod, but we've got to talk about this freaking trade, Elliott.

1:00.0

The Eagles, for those who are living under a rock, have traded the sixth pick in the draft, moving back to the 12th pick with Miami Dolphins after the Dolphins had traded out of the three pick with the Niners, two massive trades back to back.

1:12.0

Obviously, working together in tandem. The Eagles moved back from six to 12, they swap a fourth and a fifth round or this year, they pick up an extra first round or next year as well, so theoretically three first round picks.

1:27.0

In 2022, we'll get into the minutiae of it, but just off the top, what do you think, Elliott?

1:33.0

Well, this is the parks pod, and this is a massive gamble than how he rose mental. I mean, there's just like that right here. That's why Elliott's short parks is the best hashtag one. Well done.

1:46.0

Thank you.

1:47.0

So look, I think that I have two different reactions to this. It's what I initially thought when I saw the trade, and then it's once I've had some time to think about it.

1:56.0

My initial reaction when I saw the trade was I don't like it. I don't like trading outside of the top 10. I liked you, Mar chase and Calpitz enough to stay there. This is such an important pick. Like you have got to get an elite player with this first round pick.

2:09.0

You have to, and I understand the benefits of adding picks and all that, but the bottom line is moving from six to 12 makes it harder to get that pick right. Maybe they move back up, who knows, but chances are they aren't moving up past six.

2:21.0

I would think doing the way they move up now is if the night of the draft someone falls and they move to like nine or 10, but they're probably not moving up anything significant regardless.

2:29.0

And real quick, just with moving up one spot or two, the two picks right in front of them now are the giants and the cowboys. So, you know, yeah, it's the limit theoretically limits the idea of hopping up. And maybe jump ahead of them, but, you know, I, yeah.

2:45.0

So, I don't like it is my initial read on it. Now, when I take some time to think about it for more than a few minutes, which is what the Eagles have done, right? This is obviously something they thought about for a very long time.

2:57.0

I get the logic of adding a pick next year, like three first round picks in a draft is no small thing. I mean, assuming Carson plays 75% of his snaps in theapolis, they're going to have three picks in 2022.

3:09.0

That is huge. That is like almost where you can trade up to wherever you want to. You can do whatever you want. You can get three guys on rookie deals in the first round. Like that's massive.

3:18.0

And then when you combine the cap space they have next off season, that's big too. So, once again, this sets up 2022 to be just huge for the Eagles, right?

3:27.0

But ultimately where I come down on the trade is it's all going to come down to the evaluations. If they go back to 12 and they take Jalen Waddle and he ends up being a stud receiver, then this is going to look amazing. If they go to 12 and they take, they take Patrick's retain, then this will look amazing.

3:42.0

But if you trade down and Jamar chase ends up being the next Justin Jefferson, how pit says the next Travis Kelsey, right? And then you don't get an absolute stud at number 12.

3:54.0

This is, it's risky. So ultimately I get the logic, but man, they have better get these draft picks, right? Because if you move down and then you, you pass on someone, like it's, it's just really bad.
