This summer, we're reading Pyrinaezi by Susanna Clark, a book about a man who lives in a house

that loves him.

parched, breathless. I looked up at the statues on the walls of the vestibule. I need water,

I told them hoarsely. Bring me a drink of water.

But they were only statues, and they could not bring me water.

They could only look down on me with calm nobility.

Hello everybody and welcome back to Reading with Joy.

We are on Part 4 of Pyrenezi. and it's been such a delight to read this

book with everyone. And I am at the recording process, of course, always comes a little before the

release process. So now I'm starting to see everyone's thoughts and engagements with this book,

and it's just such a pleasure to discuss this with you all and see your

thoughts. And I always, my experience of a book is always deepened. And I'm always think that it's a

great con that I have somehow managed to get, you know, several thousand people to talk about

books that I like with me. But more particularly, I'm excited to talk with a friend today on the podcast

about Part 416. I'm delighted to welcome Matthew Rathus Mosier to the show. And Matthew is a

assistant professor at the Honors College in Azusa Pacific University in California, which I will

admit was the rival to my undergrad at Biola. So I think it's a beautiful Christian thing that we can
