0:00.0	1 Kings chapter 19 verse 9 and the word of the Lord came to him. What are you doing here Elijah?
0:22.7	He replied, I've been very zealous for the Lord God Almighty. The Israelites have rejected
0:28.3	your covenant. They've torn down your altars and put your prophets to death with the sword.
0:33.2	I am the only one left and now they're trying to kill me too. The Lord said,
0:40.4	go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the Lord. For the Lord is about to pass by.
0:48.4	Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the Lord,
0:53.2	but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in
1:00.0	the earthquake. After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire and then after
1:06.7	the fire came a gentle whisper. When Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face and went out
1:14.9	and stood at the mouth of the cave. Then a voice said to him, what are you doing here Elijah? He
1:23.7	replied, I have been very zealous for the Lord God Almighty. The Israelites have rejected your
1:28.8	covenant. They've torn down your altars and put your prophets to death with the sword. I am the
1:34.0	only one left and now they're trying to kill me too. The Lord said to him, go back the way you came.
1:42.8	This is the word of the Lord.
1:53.2	What are you doing here Elijah? This is one of the most important questions in the whole of the
1:59.8	Bible. Let me give you a little bit of context for why it's being asked. A few days before God
2:04.8	asked this a question, Elijah is at the center of a spectacle. If you remember he prays down fire
2:10.3	on the altar, rain on the city and labors in prayer on the mountain and between. He was and is our
2:15.9	model for midday prayer, but then just a chapter later. The same prophet is now hiding afraid and
2:23.2	borderline suicidal. He's traveled 80 miles on foot with nothing but the clothes on his back. He
2:29.0	lies down somewhere in the wilderness and says, God have had enough. This journey is too much for me.
2:35.9	So Elijah is standing there in the wilderness at the mouth of this cave alone and afraid when God
