1 Corinthians 14 verses 1 to 4

Follow the way of love and eagerly desire gifts of the Spirit, especially prophecy.

For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to people but to God.

Indeed no one understands them, they are the mysteries by the Spirit.

But the one who prophesies speaks to people for their strengthening, encouraging and comfort.

Anyone who speaks in a tongue adifies themselves.

But the one who prophesies adifies the church.

And now in German.

Keep on the way of love, strive to give the spirit of love to all of you, prophetic.

If a tongue adifies not to people but to God, then no one understands them, they are the mysteries of the Spirit.

If they prophesies adifies to people, they are built by the Spirit.

If a tongue adifies themselves, they are prophetic and offer the whole thing.

That is all there.

Megumi temporarily joined our church staff in New York City at the previous church community that I led under the job title, Interim Children's Ministry Coordinator.

Which is church plant speak for, we don't have enough money to pay anyone for this.

But we do need someone to buy us some time.

Would you do it?

Six months in, I offered her a permanent position.

She responded, I'd really like to think it over.

Later she told me she didn't know how to let me down gently in the moment and needed some time to reflect on the phrasing of that.

But that was entirely her plan.
