Summary

From the series, "Forgiving As We Have Been Forgiven" as part of Practicing the Way. In our final teaching, we flip it around from forgiving people who have hurt us, to reconciling with people we have hurt. In a cultural moment of victimization, it's all to easy to blame shift and make excuses, but the invitation of Jesus is to journey down the long, slow road of reconciliation.

Well, hey, hopefully you've been around the last couple weeks,

and you know that we've been working through the practice of forgiveness.

And this evening, we're just going to wrap it up together.

Over the past few weeks, we've spent some time unpacking what it means to forgive.

We've worked through what it means for God to use our pain and to catalyze it for good

and the kingdom and in our lives.

And then last week, Gerald walked us through just kind of the practical how to's forgiveness.

Now tonight, we're going to make a bit of a shift.

We believe that the spirit over the past few weeks has been leading many of us to places of great healing.

We've been hearing really incredible stories of what God's doing.

But we also believe that He's been at work revealing to us, to a lot of us,

the ways that we've actually hurt others.

And this is where this conversation gets a little messy, right?

A little bit complicated.

Our default often is to believe that the relationship after conflict is impossible.

Like a lot of us, it's like our belief system, or that the situation or the person is too far gone,

or that it's just too downright awkward to move forward, right?
