Summary

In Part 4 of Robbie and Genelle, host Cameron Jay centers the podcast on the one man at the center of the entire investigation: the uncle of victim Genelle Helms. The investigation quickly centered on the Florida man, claiming that there was motive, means, and opportunity. What was that motive? And how did this investigation not only affect the lives of those who loved Robbie and Genelle– but how did it affect the young couple’s nine month old baby? We’ll address all of this and more.

In part four of the story of Robbie and Janelle, we're going to finally take a closer look at the investigation once it

0:40.0

gained traction and centered on one person, Janelle's uncle, Billy Mack, Devine.

0:48.2

As a reminder, Janelle's parents passed away. You know they left the trust fund, and that

0:53.5

trust fund was being managed by Mr.

0:55.7

Devine who lived around Tampa, Florida. From all accounts, I'm going to be honest, it seems as

1:02.0

though Billy Mack Devine initially made sure that Janelle was getting small sums of her inheritance

1:08.1

in order to make ends meet, and ultimately to take care of Kelsey once she was born in 93.

1:13.6

But here's the thing. Billy Mack Devine and his wife seemed to do much more than manage Janelle's finances as it related to the trust.

1:22.6

They seemingly served as a second set of parents to Kelsey prior to Janelle and Robbie's murder.

1:28.4

It was not unusual for the young couple to let their daughter go down to Florida, where they

1:33.1

knew she would be taken care of for extended periods of time. Perhaps this was done to give the

1:38.8

couple a break, maybe even time to allow them to enjoy the things they loved or to explore their future together

1:46.4

independent of that new responsibility or at least prior to the murder it seemed all of these

1:53.6

things might be well-intentioned it's worth noting though i have reached out to the divines

1:59.7

no response to my repeated attempts

to share their version of the story with all of you. So Mr. and Mrs. Divine, if you are listening,

please know, and I mean this with all sincerity, you will always have a place on this podcast

to share your story.
