How you should pray.

Our Father in Heaven, hallowed be your name.

Your kingdom come, your will be done.

On earth as it is in heaven, give us today our daily bread and forgive our depths.

We also have forgiven our debtors and leave us not to tempt temptation but deliver us from

this evil one.

I want to start today with three true stories.

Here's the first one.

He's got named Dutch Sheets who wrote a book on prayer and he told the story of being

asked to visit a sick stranger in a nursing home in order to pray for her.

Now he at the time is a pastor in Colorado.

He has no information on the woman he's going to pray for whatsoever except that she's

the sister of someone who's within his congregation and she has pleaded with him that he would go

to this nursing home to pray for her.

He walks into her room and this woman is fully comatose, has a breathing tube down her

throat and a feeding tube in her stomach that's keeping her alive.

He finds out from the staff that she has been in that state for over a year.

There are doctors who are simply waiting on the family's permission to pull the plug.

There's no medical reason to believe that she will regain consciousness.
