John said to the crowds coming out to be baptized by him, you boot of vipers who warned

you to flee from the coming wrath, produce food and keeping with repentance and to not

begin to say to yourselves, we have Abraham as our Father. For I tell you that out of these

stones God can raise up children for Abraham. The acts are ready at the root of the trees.

Now we treat that does not produce good food will we cut down and throw it into the

fire. What should we do then? The crowd asked. John said,

anyone who has two shirts should share with the one who has none. Anyone who has food should

do the same. Even tax collectors came to be baptized. Teacher, they asked, what should

we do? Don't collect any more than you are required to. He told them. Then some soldiers

asked them, and what should we do? Hereby, don't extra money and don't accuse people

of fossil. We can tell you what they pay. This is the word of the word.

Thanks be to God. So there is this famous story about John Wesley who is a hero of mine.

He started a revival in the city of London not too long ago during a time when the church

was really sleepwalking. But this story has nothing to do with his leadership. It was a
