So, no, people are saying all kinds of crazy stuff.

The Orthodox view is that Jesus looks like he looks like in the icons.

And that's one of the reasons I like the high priest icon because it really shows all of the Hebraic elements of Christ.

So let's look at the high priest icon here. So he's seated on a throne. And it's a heavenly throne because you see the four cherubim, which are the four Gospels, right?

Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, pictured as a man, as an eagle, etc.

But he's also seated on a throne the way that a king would be seated. That's why he's wearing a crown.

But his crown is also a reference to the crown the high priest wears in this icon, you see. So these are variations of Christ, the high priest wears in this icon you see so these are variations of christ

the high priest but the other one is good because it shows that he's prophet pre that's a

roman catholic one he's a prophet priest and king you see so he fulfills the threefold role

of the old testament expectation of the Messiah.

They must be a prophet, a priest, and a king.

And that's why I like this icon quite a bit, because it shows him as Christ the high priest,

and he's also a king.

He fulfills that role, all three of those roles.
