Hi Mike, Bab's in Ireland here.

I thought maybe we could have a little bit of perspective. You've seen this optical illusion before and they say that

people under 35 first see a beautiful woman and maybe only see a beautiful woman.

People over 35 first see an old crone and maybe only see an old crone.

Some of us see both and we forget that it's okay to see one or the other in real life.

And when we try to force people who want to see life as a beautiful woman and

everything's fine or people who see life as a complete catastrophe and everything is always horrible,

if we want them to see the other side, they may not want to and they may not be at all happy if they're forced to see that things are not simple

Both things are true and each can be true independently for someone who chooses to live their life that way.

I think our problem is wanting everybody to see all of it all at once and it's too much for a lot of people.

It's too much for people who have to raise their children and have to go to a job that they hate and want to go on holidays and want to live their lives.

I remember in the 70s how we thought that we needed to prepare for nuclear winter and who we were going to all have to learn how to chop down trees and forage in the woods and all the rest of it,

and none of that happened.

We didn't, none of us had to do that and now we're in our 70s and we're watching

it all happen again and we're getting all excited about it again.

Like many other people, I didn't hoard toilet paper or the jokes that we used to tell about

everybody making a run on the shops for Brennan's bread. It's like Wonder Bread. Things didn't run out. The Conservative Tree House guy had all these different essays about the supply chain breaking down and that people in the cities were going to starve to death and it was going to happen any minute.

And we were all buying extra cans of food to store and now we have to cycle through those and the things that are going to have a

sell-by date we have to use them and a lot of the stuff we bought like spam that we

never wanted to eat anyway and we're going to end up checking it out.
