Lawmakers in New York City voted to cut $1 billion from the NYPD's budget

and transfer that money to community development programs

focusing on police reform, youth services,

and support for low-income communities of color.

The move has been oddly enough criticized by both

sides arguing to defund the police. So on one hand protesters including New York

Congresswoman Alexandria Casio Cortez says a billion dollars isn't enough

while critics on the other side say the cut will breed a more violent city which has already seen an uptick in shootings over the past week.

And this just made me think of Garagos talking about divorce, like does that make it a perfect divorce
