I'm sure you've noticed I didn't really elaborate about the kiss in the kitchen a few episodes ago.

Maybe you thought Usha and I would talk about it more.

Or perhaps you expected I would have made a bigger deal out of Usha brushing her lips over my fingers in the middle of our conversation.

I might have held back a little

because I know you want all the details.

That's part of listening to a romantic story, isn't it?

I understand that.

I truly do.

But some things should exist only in the moment.

As soon as they become memories, they change profoundly,

especially when you put them under a microscope.

That's why Usha and I didn't really talk about the kiss.

At least, that's how I remember it.

Usha now says she would have been fine talking about it.

But I remember feeling an almost sacred respect for the unspoken between us.

Usha did say that not everything needed a name or a label, remember?

I can't see the irony of a therapist praising the unspoken.

And to be fair to myself, in the therapy I offered, there were non-verbal approaches.

Still, only after meeting Usha did I start to understand that there are other ways to become close.

Sometimes, too many words drive you apart.

I know this all sounds a little heavy, a little too serious or even a little pompous.
