Summary

From the series "Fighting The World, The Flesh, & The Devil" as part of Practicing The Way. At the center of the way of Jesus is a symbol: the cross. Yet all too often we see it as a sentimental song or piece of jewelry, rather than a way of life. The way to resurrection life has always been through Golgotha death. Self-denial is the entry point to the life of Jesus.

Before Gandhi, before Dr. King, before Mediba, there was Jesus of Nazareth.

Over two millennia ago, he said, turn the other cheek, love your enemy.

Those who live by the sword will what?

So the irony of calling a practice based on the life and teachings of Jesus fighting

But calling Jesus a pacifist is at best misleading.

And the way that he defeated this axis of evil was not with a sword or a spear and an

So it comes as no surprise that he called his apprentices to follow his example.

Take a look at Matthew chapter 16, verse 21.
