We are reading today from Philippians chapter 4 verses 5 through 7.

The Lord is near.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation by prayer and petition with

thanksgiving, present your requests to God and the peace of God which transcends all

understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

This is the Word of the Lord.

You have a seat.

So a few years ago I was sitting next to my wife, Kirsten, at a church meeting on a Wednesday

night.

We were sipping wheat coffee from stouter foam cups and I was so distracted because her

phone just kept on buzzing against the linoleum table in front of us.

Her dad was calling her for a third time in a row and so eventually she grabbed her

phone and stepped outside and he didn't even say hello just as soon as she picked up

he said.

The doctor just left the room.

And he couldn't say much after that because he got choked up with tears.

Kirsten's brother van, he had had some chest pain that he thought was heartburned.

Just a few days prior to that he ate some spicy food.

It wasn't sitting quite right.

He hadn't felt right sense.

And that chest pain turned out to be a torne orda.

His primary heart valve was gushing blood internally.
