Summary
A tip comes in about the possible murder of a young woman. If true, police have a pretty good idea who did it. But solving a case in the right way is far trickier than acting on a hunch. And so begins Detective Brad's long journey to try to find answers for a victim's family. This is Part One of Two.
The guest: Detective Brad
Detective Brad has worked in law enforcement for over 24 years, serving in a wide range of capacities. In the first half of his career, he worked as a patrol officer, a member of the Gang Enforcement Team, a narcotics investigator, and a detective in the Child Abuse Unit. After all of that, he earned a special assignment to a federal Fugitive Task Force, where he served five years, and then returned to the detective squad, where he’s spent the last six years investigating violent crime and serving on the county's Major Crimes Team.

| 1:25.1 | moving pieces in this case and it takes quite a while for police to gather enough |
| 1:29.8 | evidence so that they can finally arrest the killer. |
| 1:34.0 | Because in addition to all of the other things working against them, |
| 1:38.0 | the killer is not unfamiliar with the kinds of clues police will be looking for. |
| 1:43.2 | So he does a fair job of covering his tracks for a while. |
