Eons 3, 16 to 19.

I pray that out of his glorious riches, he may strengthen you with power through his

spirit in your inner being so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.

I pray that you being rooted and established in love may have power together with all

the Lord's holy people to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ

and to know this love that's our past is knowledge that you may be filled to the measure of all

the fullness of God.

This is the Word of the Lord.

Now, if you've ever gone to counseling before, you'll know that the way it always starts

as you go in with a presenting issue, but that's never really why you're there.

The counselor just kind of pokes and prods around at you until somewhere in the first five

sessions or so that hit that one spot that unravels you.

It's at that point that you discover why you're really there.

It's kind of like you show up because you're doing chronic anxiety and then you discover

that you're actually there to discuss your father wounds.

It's that kind of thing.

So I started meeting this several years ago when I was passing a church in New York.

I started meeting with this old wise pastor who had become a counselor that I really admired

and wanted to be able to sit down with and my presenting issue was that I was a young

pastor in my 20s dealing with a series of difficult church transitions.

And so in the early days we talked about that.
