My name is Mark McCorre, an executive director of the center.

And today we're doing something a little different. It's more of a politics, sort of Washington Circus show rather than on

policy issues. But this is important because of the government shutdown, or at least the

shutdown of DHS, because the Democrats have refused to approve

funding for it. And we're recording this a couple days before it's going to be posted,

but there's very little chance that this will be out of date by the time you hear this podcast

because this shutdown is likely to last, at least

through this week because Congress isn't even here, and who knows how long it'll last

...
