Summary

Choosing between the Left and Right Banks of Paris is like picking a favourite child. Tough, but often necessary.

But of course, there's no real answer. There's no scientific equation, no data mining, no possible way to find the "best".

Or is there?

I've spent this week talking to experts, surveying Earful Tower followers, and churning through stats to figure out which side of the river is "officially" the best. And I have an answer.

I discuss the topic with two authors, Right Banker Lindsey Tramuta and Left Banker John Baxter.

There's a much deeper look at the stats on the website here.

0:19.8

putting them head to head in a bit of a showdown,

and I've got the help of two authors, left banker John Baxter and right banker Lindsay Tremuter,

0:28.8

who are also going to be putting forward their case for their side of the city.

0:32.8

Me, I'm going to be sharing with you some data, some data, some data that I've been mining because I

0:39.0

think I've come up with my own answer of which side of the river is specifically and scientifically

0:43.8

the best. And I've also been surveying you listeners to hear what you had to say. Now, of course,

0:49.6

of course, there's no real answer, is there? I mean, you can't have a better side of the river in Paris.

0:56.4

But the idea is that through listening to some of these experts and through hearing some of

1:00.5

the sort of statistics that I've put together, you might find a few new and interesting things

1:05.1

to see on your next trip to Paris, or indeed, you might find you have a new favourite side of the river, just like every

1:12.5

single Parisian does.

1:14.4

Anyway, season 5 of the Yerfel Tower, let's get underway and thank you for listening.

1:24.6

Okay, so let's get this straight.

1:26.5

A lot of people listening, maybe you've never been to Paris,

1:28.7

maybe you didn't even know that the city was divided so decisively into two.

1:33.1

So let me start at the very beginning, the basic facts so you know what we're talking about.

1:37.1

Otherwise, you won't know what we're going on for for the next half an hour.
