All right, today we'll be digging in to the careers of part-time pop divas,

but longtime notorious tabloid fixtures, Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan.

When we were doing our Britney Spears series earlier this year, especially during episode

three, which covered Britney's quote-unquote meltdown between 2003 and 2009, a period

defined by a very specific brand of celebrity tabloid and blog coverage.

Two characters loomed large around the margins of the pop princess's most lurid epic.

Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan. This trio,

Brittany, Paris, and Lindsay were famously dubbed the Bimbo Summit by the New York Post in 2006,

and became primarily notorious for their increasingly out-of-control public antics,

and the breathless coverage of said antics in the press. Unlike Brittany, both Lindsay and Paris

weren't primarily known as musicians by any means.

Lindsay had risen to fame as a prolific and well-regarded child film superstar, and Paris,

well, kind of invented the idea of being an influencer before we had a word for it.

But during this era, both also famously, or maybe infamously, attempted to follow their
